Registration is now open

Brora Golf Club is the ideal venue for your spring golfing break in 2019.  Brora, the most northerly golf memorial to James Braid in his native Scotland is our base for the week which provides

- five days of team and individual competitions

- tuition from our PGA Professional; and

- six nights of entertainment and Highland hospitality.

Our Golf Week has been established since the early 1980s and has attracted participants from all over the world.  In fact, many of our Golf Week regulars have joined the club, made lifelong friendships and some have put down roots in the local area. Registration for Golf Week is now available.  Please follow the link below.

Further details of the event are set out in the brochure available by phoning the Golf Club on 01408 621417 or by clicking on the link below.

Feedback we received after Golf Week 2018 was very positive and we have largely kept the 2019 programme unchanged from last year.  We will make some minor changes to accommodate comments we received concerning pace of play, arrangements in the event of poor weather and the length of the quiz!  In addition, we are pleased to advise you of the following.

Sponsorship

As usual, the week will be supported by the Royal Marine Hotel.  The Golf Week Charity Open will be sponsored by local business Kingcraig Fabrics.  In addition, we have had a generous offer of sponsorship from Dave Horwood, one of our Golf Week regulars.  This will give us a good start to our fund-raising efforts in support of our nominated charity and will also provide a great contribution to the provision of prizes to the successful golfers.

Nominated charity

Our nominated charity for the Golf Week Open, which we will again run in conjunction with the club, will be the Ross-Shire Group of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  This group provides support and care to families affected by this life limiting neurological condition.

Catering arrangements

We are pleased to announce that since last year’s Golf Week, Brora GC has decided to run the catering function in-house.  Laura and Arlene, who you will be familiar with from last year, have been retained by the club to provide this function.  The new catering team, supported by Nicki and the bar staff look forward to welcoming you to Brora in May.

Tuition from Malcolm Murray

Our resident PGA Professional, Malcolm Murray, will organise the usual programme of group and individual tuition.  In addition, we have introduced a tuition-only option for 2019.  If you are a beginner, or returning to golf after a break, and do not feel up to participating in the competitive golf programme, you can register for Golf Week on a tuition-only basis.  This will entitle you to participate fully in the social programme and to attend Malcolm's group and individual tuition sessions.  We hope that this option will prove popular with partners and friends of golfers who are participating in the full Golf Week programme.

The course

The course continues to be in a fanastic condition and you can be sure that James and his team will set up the course in a way that guarantees your enjoyment of the week.  We have had a number of high profile visitors to Brora in recent months and their feedback about the course has been universally positive.  If you want a reminder of the condition of the course (and the weather conditions we enjoyed in 2018), the video published by "No Laying UP" is definitely worth a look.

The staff and volunteers at Brora Golf Club look forward to welcoming you to Golf Week 2019.  If we can be of any assistance to you when you are organising your trip, please contact us on 01408-621417 or by emailing broragolfweek@broragolfclub.co.uk
